As I am sure you all have heard by now that Footnote.com is now Fold3.
Footnote has been such a great resource over the past few years for finding military records, some census records and a bunch of random genealogical goodies. I have used it many times in my personal research as well as for clients here at ProGenealogists.
One exciting thing I discovered while learning about the name change is also the fact that their website is formatted for mobile devices! I usually read all the blogs I subscribe to on my phone, so when I clicked the link taking me to the new website I saw that it was a mobile version.
I played around for a few minutes with it and saw that you can browse through various collections, search for individual records and people and also view the original records! I am a big fan of doing my genealogy “on the go” so I was very excited to see that I could access this website on my mobile devices. In my opinion, you never know when you might need to look up a record or want to show a family member something you found earlier and being able to do that anywhere is really cool.
