Inspired by her love of genealogy, retired librarian, Mollie, began to develop a searchable website for free online books nearly three years ago.  After gathering nearly 5,000 links she very generously put it on the web in December 2007, entitled Genealogy Book Links. Since that time it has grown to contain nearly 20,000 titles with 7,500 in the biography and family genealogy section.  Mollie maintains and updates the site regularly, usually adding 300-500 new titles per week.

If you’re looking for a list of complete free text books on the web, this is your site!  As the site is genealogically oriented, it is easy to navigate for your research.  Mollie has arranged books by surname, locality, material type and by topic.  She is always working on improving the organization and cleanup to make the user’s experience more beneficial.  For example, one of her current endeavors is to update the 100 most popular surnames.  Some names such as Smith, Williams, etc. are already done.
